The section introduces the concepts of molecular genetic epidemiology, the principles and use of molecular and genetic methods in epidemiological and clinical research. Students will be taught about molecular genetic markers, genes related to the emergence of diseases, microbial types that cause infectious diseases, as well as their interaction with environmental factors. Students will also develop a framework for interpreting, evaluating, and possibly integrating molecular genetic markers into their research subject.
